Private Party Booking Terms and General Info
BOOKING TERMS – All Private Party Bookings:
1. All prices include a non-refundable $40 booking fee / admin charge.
2. Your party services have been designed to accommodate the number of kids advised when the booking was made. If you end up with more kids you may miss out on one or more activities, so please contact us no later than Tuesday 5pm before your event date so an adjustment can be made to your booking. Our pricing is calculated on a time basis not on the services covered so the full payment would still be due.
3. If your party has face painting included in the services being provided, whether in your backyard or in a public area the gecko worker will need a table and 2 chairs (per painter). Please have this set up prior to your party start time.
4. When we advise you the time required to provide the services, it is outside the normal activities undertaken at a birthday e.g. cake cutting/present opening. Please ensure that you consider an appropriate structure to your party so the services can be provided. If time runs out, the full payment is due and no refund will be given.
5. If your party has games included you will need as much area as possible for the kids to play in. Please clear/tidy your backyard (best option - weather permitting) or clear as much space as possible inside if it’s too cold/wet to go outside.
6. Prizes – generally the games we play focus on participation rather then winning (or losing). Some kids haven’t grasped the idea of losing yet and sometimes the birthday child thinks they should win every game at their party. We would rather just promote fun. If there are games you have planned outside the package you have secured, please let us know if you want them included in the time frame we allocate to the games portion of the services.
7. Please also make sure pets are put away for the duration of the party. They may be perfectly fine with the kids but they can still get in the way or might be injured by an over exuberant or distracted child.
8. If you are having your event in a public area, we do require that you think about a wet weather plan and advise us of this at the time of booking. If it rains on the day before and/or day of your event and you are considering the wet weather alternative, please call our office so we can notify staff allocated to your event.
9. We always do our best to accommodate our customers/client base - but if there is a change in start time for your event we need to be advised by Tuesday 5pm the week of your event. Any requests received after this cannot be changed as staffing requirements are finalized on Wednesday.
10. We do require that our staff have access to a toilet(if required) - please let them know where the facilities can be found whether your event is being held in a public or private location.
11. Where face painting or glitter tattoo services are being provided, we request these services not be performed without the supervision of adults e.g. services are not to be performed in private rooms of the house.
12. Where face painting is part of the service being provided - please consider the following:
- It is your responsibility to identify children who may have a reaction to the productand advise the staff member, that way we can ensure the child doesn't miss out by having it placed on the arm, hand or leg.
- If the child has been running around and their face is sweaty before having their face painted, there may be a risk that the face paint may run into the child's eyes and possibly sting - so please make an effort to ensure the child's face is clean and wiped before application. This also applies if sunscreen/sweat and face paint are mixed together.
- Our staff member will have non-alcoholic wipes in their kits to clean children's faces before applying the face paint if they feel it is required.
Note: The above has been mentioned to highlight some risks to the application of face paint and identifying some preparation that can be undertaken before children have their faces painted. We want children to enjoy the experience and have a smile on their face when it is completed.
Cancellation Policy
· Within 24 hours of making the booking (provided this is at least 7 days prior to the event date) – no charge.
· More than 14 days notice – refund all but $40 admin fee.
· 4 - 14 days notice – refund all but $40 admin fee (includes cancellation due to illness or weather).
· 0 – 3 days notice – 50% party value (includes cancellation due to illness or weather).
· Postponing party to another date – each party booking is entitled to 1 penalty free postponement provided the party is paid in full and the new date is within 3 months.
